Sarah Dey Burton is a member of our Global AI, Insights & Solutions team. ​She co-founded and, for many years, led the Innovation & Design practice.

Sarah is a leader in our Digital practice. Her expertise covers several areas: innovation strategy, new venture launch, customer experience transformation, digital product delivery, customer loyalty and Net Promoter SystemSM, employee inspiration, and brand strategy. She works across all verticals and in B2B and B2C to help deliver differentiated outcomes and business value for clients.

Sarah is a passionate advocate for the customer. She is Stanford-certified in Design Thinking and an advisory expert on innovation and customer-centric growth topics. Often engaged for her creative approach to complex problem-solving, she is known for big-idea thinking, timely and effective decision-making, and value-oriented risk analysis. She has authored articles on digital transformation, the future of sales, and employee inspiration.

At Bain, she is actively dedicated to mentoring and coaching women and the next generation of talent across the firm. Outside of Bain, Sarah focuses her energy on underserved youth and education, supporting their journeys to get into college and persist through graduation.

Her 28-year management consulting and retail career includes 20 years with Bain in the U.S., Canada, and Australia and eight years at Gap Inc. in the U.S. ​Sarah earned an MSc from the London School of Economics in England, UK, and a BSc in Political Science with Honors from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.​
