Heidi Deringer is the head of Bain's Americas Financial Services practice, as well as a member in the firm's Performance Improvement and Mergers & Acquisitions practices. She has more than 20 years of consulting experience, working with client teams to develop actionable and sustainable results.
Heidi has extensive experience across financial sectors, including P&C insurance, life insurance and annuities, asset management, payments and credit bureaus, as well as services provided to these industries. She has expertise in corporate and business unit transformations, operating model strategies, sustained cost transformation, business process redesign and change management.
As a performance improvement expert, Heidi has worked with leading companies in insurance, payments and banking sectors and, more broadly, in retail businesses to identify and capture efficiency and effectiveness opportunities in their core operations, sales and service channels, new product development, procurement, shared services and corporate overhead areas. Heidi supports clients in identifying opportunities to digitize and deploy intelligent automation into their core processes and deploying agile ways of working to support business goals. She has also led the codification of Bain's experience and best practices in claims management, strategic sourcing and cross-functional procurement.
Additionally, Heidi helped establish the firm's Private Equity practice within the Atlanta office, leading efforts in both due diligence and portfolio strategy.
Outside of her consulting work, she serves on the Board of Trustees for the Atlanta International School.
Heidi earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was designated a Baker Scholar. She is also a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in classics and English, with distinction, as well as the undergraduate Distinguished Student Award.
