Dane Anderson is a member of our Retail and Performance Improvement practices. He has worked with many large retailers and his work primarily surrounds corporate and business unit strategy. His case portfolio also includes various diligences for both corporate and private equity funds.
Dane is also a member of our Higher Education and K12 Education practices. As a former COO and CFO of a large school system in Washington, DC, he brings a tremendous amount of experience for clients looking to work with or adjacent to schools. During his 7+ years of leadership, Dane oversaw the strategy of $220+ million annual budget resulting in BBB+ credit rating, annual audit, $400+ million in assets, and 3.6% cost of capital and he led the day-to-day operations across 20 schools, 1,200+ employees, and 1 million+ square feet of facilities.
Before joining Bain in 2010, Dane was a math teacher in Zuni, New Mexico as a Teach for America Corps member.
In his personal time, Dane is an avid outdoorsman - runner, soccer, skiing, and most importantly fly fishing. He also loves spending time with his wife and two boys where they live in Washington, DC.
Dane obtained dual degrees in political science and economics from the University of North Carolina and a MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
