THE TEAM
Bain Academy offers capability building programs to clients and potential clients across all regions. We are a team of passionate Bainies who design and deliver customized, immersive, high impact learning programs. We partner with Bain solutions to develop programs that enhance the capabilities of client teams and executives, drive results, and build long-term Bain promoters. We offer 125+ Masterclasses on topics such as GenAI, Commercial Excellence, Agile Innovation, Strategic Thinking, Effective Decision Making (RAPID), Business Storytelling, and High Performing Teams. We design and deliver multi-day, multi-session leadership programs to enhance the general manager strategic toolkit and leadership skills. We also offer blended programs that incorporate digital, self-paced learning through eLearning modules and assignments for participants to apply their learning.
THE ROLE
You will join the Bain Academy team to help design and deliver immersive, interactive, high impact learning programs for clients (in-person and virtual). You will work closely with Expert Senior Managers, Expert Associate Partners, as well as other leaders within the team. You will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including supporting client-facing training, driving priority IP development, and enhancing team operations.
A key success factor in this role is the application of skills developed in a client-facing role combined with a strong passion for designing and delivering learning programs. You must be able to provide support for the relevant senior team members and work directly with case teams from around the world to build awareness of the team and also design and deliver client workshops. The role typically provides more predictable and flexible travel expectations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Contribute to Bain Academy IP development
- Build broad knowledge of Bain Academy content and gain emerging personal expertise in 1-2 relevant topics
- Apply business judgment, cultural sensitivity, and creativity to develop clear learning outcomes for Bain Academy content, taking into account the client/audience context, strategic goals, and current capabilities
- Own end-to-end design of high-impact and innovative client learning modules
- Participate in professional development opportunities to deepen expertise
- Collaborate on Bain Academy publications (e.g., Bain Brief or Bain Playbook)
- Deliver high-impact client learning experiences
- Advise case teams, practice and product teams, and other Bain functions / expert groups on capability building
- Help facilitate client workshops
- Contribute to commercial activity and marketing
- Support commercial outcomes by contributing to proposals
- Build professional credibility through delivery of high quality content and facilitation and create promoters through interaction with consulting and internal / practice teams
- Build internal Bain promoters of Bain Academy by driving marketing efforts at global and practice leadership meetings, training events, and through affiliates
- Help manage Bain Academy team operations
- Conduct research and contribute to ongoing Bain Academy strategy development, reporting, and annual planning
- Derive insights from Bain Academy client feedback and propose actions
- Contribute to affiliate communications and development of internal and external marketing collateral
- Liaise with practice and product teams and other functions to contribute to ongoing Bain Academy backlog prioritization
- Build an inspired and engaged Bain Academy team
- Demonstrate ownership and full accountability for deliverables, effectively leveraging senior team members’ time and the teams’ resources to enhance solutions
- Use technology to effectively collaborate with remote team and adopt agile ways of working
- Collaborate with and learn from Bain Academy leaders and other functions and expert groups in Bain ecosystem
- Contribute to other team members’ professional development
- Facilitate regional/global training sessions were applicable
Key Candidate Qualifications
- Current or recent Bain consulting Manager experience, with a rating of “Strong Impact/Contribution” or higher in most recent professional development review OR mastery of the Expert Consultant, Bain Academy role
- A strong interest in training, ideally demonstrated by having been a trainer e.g. at Pre-ACT/Pre-NCT and ideally at a global session (ACT, SACT)
- Strong attention to (and interest in) detail and zero-defect work
- Creative, yet execution-focused
- Self-starter, able to work independently with limited direction
- Effective global networker, able to work collaboratively with people from around the world
- Experience managing others on project-based work (i.e., consulting staff and/or Business Function staff)
- Strong communication skills, English language fluency (both written and oral); interest and demonstrated ability in presenting and facilitation
- Ability to work in an evolving environment to help realize the vision for the program; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and program needs
- Ability to effectively team globally, including flexibility in adjusting priorities and work hours/availability to meet customer needs; position requires a willingness to travel (when safe to travel)
- High levels of discretion to appropriately manage highly confidential and sensitive data and information
- Business fluency in another language(s) is an asset, but it is not required
- Personal commitment to lifelong learning
- Previous knowledge / certification / experience in key topics (Product management; MBTI; Agile (Scrum); NPS; Coaching; Coding)
