WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Are you a HR professional who loves variety, thrives in fast-paced environments, and enjoys being hands-on? We’re looking for a positive, energetic HR Generalist to join our Amsterdam-based HR team. You’ll be part of a close-knit team working alongside a Senior HR Manager and HR Specialist to support our consulting and business functions staff across the full employee lifecycle. This role is perfect for a self-starter who brings a can-do attitude, enjoys collaborating across teams, and is passionate about creating an exceptional employee experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- End-to-end support for HR actions across employee lifecycle including:
- New starter onboarding like employment agreements and registrations as well as first point of contact for new starter with any HR related questions they may have
- Flexible working options: partner with PD/Staffing team for employees who take LoAs, change working hours, etc. Be responsible for completion of the relevant contract / registrations
- Support in international mobility for our employees, both incoming and outgoing:
- Advise and support on visa / work permit application and duration
- Be first point of contact for our PD/Staffing team for your peer groups on visa requirements
- Be first point of contact for employees who use one of our mobility options
- Compensation and benefits, including policies and documentation for our employees including insurance registrations
- Ad-hoc reporting as needed to support the above
- Work closely together with our GBS Warsaw colleagues who support with administrative tasks
- Partner with the broader Talent team on people related topics, policies and projects
- Support individuals within your peer group(s) as they go through key moments of truth; this involves seeking advice from Talent Director / HRVP and / or PD/Staffing team to ensure we are delivering employees needs and reducing business risk
- Participate in the development and recommendation of operating policy and procedural improvements for Consulting and Business Functions staff and Talent team
- Set standards, ensure our policies and processes are up to date for the assigned subjects, like benefits, pension, health & wellbeing:
- Address nuances and answer in-depth questions
- Coach the HR team / share tips to address FAQs and resolve roadblocks when tricky situations arise
- Lead ad-hoc policy update projects when required
- Identify and address improvement areas in processes / ways of working:
- Half-yearly policy review to ensure we are compliant with latest global thinking and local regulations
- Maintain external relationships with providers and / or intermediaries
- Ensure our process run well
- Drive and / or provide support to projects in HR (e.g. WWES initiatives, PD, etc.)
ABOUT YOU
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree
- Focus in human resources or in a business related discipline or comparable related professional experience
- 3-5 years proven experience managing the full employee life-cycle from onboarding to offboarding
- Familiarity with Workday or a similar HRIS
- Experience with payroll administration and pension schemes
- Experience in a professional services environment is highly desirable
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels, in a fast paced environment, under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, efficient and professional
- Outstanding written/verbal communication skills, strong customer service skills; ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams
- Sound commercial acumen and business judgement
- Demonstrated experience acting as a trusted advisor to management
- Demonstrated experience resolving employee relations issues
- Strong analytical skills, ability to use data to generate insights and recommend actions
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Deep knowledge of Bain & Company, Inc. and the roles of ACs, Consultants and Managers
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Fluent in English and Dutch both written and verbal
- Knowledge and experience with Dutch employment law and HR related legislation
- Knowledge and experience with Dutch sick-leave management in compliance with the ‘Wet verbetering Poortwachter’
