Who you will work with
BCN Customer COE, as part of Bain’s expert client delivery network, has the vision to lend expertise, speed and competitiveness to Bain’s Pricing, Commercial excellence, Marketing & Customer Experience projects through co-developing and delivering Pricing products, designing Go-to-Market Strategy Solutions and Improve customer experience effectively through client-specific analysis/solutions. In the CoE, we develop products and deliver solutions that help clients identify and fulfil full potential across the entire value chain of sales and customer journey. Also capturing value across – from problem identification, solution designing, and implementation, to capability transfer.

What you’ll do
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Data Architect to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions and architectures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database systems, data modeling, and cloud platforms. This role requires close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data systems effectively support business objectives and analytics initiatives. Here are the key responsibilities:
Data Architecture Design:
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data architectures to support business needs.
- Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) that align with business requirements.
Data Management & Governance:
- Ensure the integrity, quality, and security of data across systems.
- Define and enforce best practices for data governance, data integration, and data lifecycle management.
Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to optimize data pipelines and workflows.
System Performance & Optimization:
- Monitor and enhance the performance of data systems, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Identify and address data-related issues and bottlenecks proactively.
Documentation & Standards:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architectures, standards, and procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in data management and architecture.
About you
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience with database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, good to have knowledge of Snowflake, Oracle.
- Proficiency in data modeling and database design.
- Expertise in cloud platforms like Azure, good to have exposure with AWS, Google Cloud and their data services.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git or Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline frameworks for automation
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Spark, Databricks, Hadoop.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Pyspark or R
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) would be a plus.
- Understanding of data security best practices and compliance standards.
- Should have consulting knowledge/background for effectively collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders while building/maintaining the application.
- Familiarity to implement login using for OAuth providers like Google, Azure AD, or Okta would be a plus.
