Akram Alami is a member of our global Aviation and Utilities practices.

Akram serves as a trusted advisor to boards and CEOs of financial investors, airlines, airport holdings, and energy companies, helping navigate complex strategic and operating model topics. 

He leads Bain’s Aviation practice in the Middle East and is a senior member of our global Aviation and Aerospace practice. He has deep expertise advising airlines, airport operators, and aviation ecosystem investors on corporate strategy, fleet and network optimization, customer experience, M&A, investment strategy, and operating models. He has shaped national customer experience programs across large airport portfolios, supported the development of aerospace manufacturing hubs, and guided fleet strategy and launch control for both flagship and emerging carriers in the region covering both the FSC and LCC space. 

Akram is also an energy sector specialist with expertise in the strategy, operational performance, and investment, with a strong focus on utilities and electrification. He leads Bain’s Utilities practice in the Middle East, where he advises leading regional power and utility companies on corporate strategy, energy transition, organizational design, investment prioritization, decarbonization and wholesale generation buyer strategies.

Before rejoining Bain in 2021, Akram spent over three years in industry as Group Chief Transformation Officer at Etihad Aviation Group, where he led a multi-billion EBIT-focused transformation and group-wide change management plan. Akram is also a published author and major conference panelist in the space of aviation and utilities, and holds a key relationship role in the Leaders of Sustainability for MENA with The World Economic Forum. 

Akram holds an M.B.A. from London Business School and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from McGill University (Montréal).
